Ajith Kumar Death: TN Govt Gives Job To Custodial Death Victim's Brother; Case Transferred To CBI
In response to public outrage over the alleged custodial death of Ajith Kumar, aged 27, the Tamil Nadu government has swiftly appointed his brother, Naveen Kumar, to a government position. This decision came just a day after Ajith's family directly appealed to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for assistance.
The tragic incident involved Ajith Kumar, who worked as a temple security guard. He died following detention by Thiruppuvanam police in connection with a theft investigation. To ensure transparency and credibility, Chief Minister Stalin announced that the case will be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Government's Response and Investigation
Ajith Kumar's family accused the police of fatally assaulting him. Their claims are supported by an autopsy report described as "shocking" and a mobile video allegedly showing police beating Ajith with a lathi. The government's swift action reflects its commitment to addressing these serious allegations.
Chief Minister Stalin personally reached out to Ajith's grieving family. In a heartfelt phone call to Ajith's mother, he expressed deep regret, saying, "I am very sorry... Please forgive me... I regret that a mistake has been made." This gesture aimed to provide some solace to the bereaved family.
Judicial Inquiry Ordered
The High Court in Madurai has ordered a separate judicial inquiry into Ajith Kumar's death. The court expressed concerns about the initial police investigation and criticized delays in filing an FIR. It emphasized the need for accountability and demanded an interim report by July 8th.
This case highlights the importance of ensuring justice and accountability in custodial deaths. The government's actions demonstrate its resolve to address public concerns and uphold justice for Ajith Kumar's family.
