TN CM Jayalalithaa hospitalised with fever and dehydration
Chennai, Sept 23: The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the AIADMK Chief Secretary Jayalalithaa has been hospitalised late on Thursday night as she complained of fever and dehydration. A press release was issued by Apollo Hospitals later, stating that her condition was "stable and under observation".
Her health condition has always been a major point of contention among the opposition parties. For instance, after her acquittal from the disproportionate assets case last year, the DMK chief Karunanidhi demanded clarifications for her absence from office and lean attendence in the Assembly.
Her deteriorating health showed in the way she addressed public meetings, seated, and when she took her seat several times during an award distribution ceremony on Independence Day.
However, despite all ailments, Jayalalithaa won the Assembly elections, defeating DMK and allies, and becoming the Chief Minister of the state for the sixth consecutive time.
