TN BJP Chief Annamalai Gets PM Modi's Pat On Back; Video Goes Viral

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed on Tuesday at Tiruppur as he came to Tamil Nadu for the concluding rally of BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai's statewide 'En Mann En Makkal' yatra.

The PM, K Annamalai and Union Minister of State L Murugan took part in a rally in an open vehicle as flowers and petals were showered on him.

However, what has caught the attention is the Prime Minister's repeated pat on Annamalai's back. This clip has now gone viral.

"The crowd wanted to see Modi with Annamalai. Just both standing together is a sight all wanted to see. But we got beyond that - the pat on the shoulder, gentle touch and holding the hand with assurance speaks volumes of Annamalai. Modi was proud that he picked the right person," a user said on Twitter.

The second user commented, "That pat and handshake and Modi ji pulling you from the back and raising your hand up, can you some up your emotions in few words please. It was such an emotional moment for me. I watched that over and over again. Sitting far away from Bharat my thoughts were with you all."

Another netizen added, "Witnessed d the entire event up close with my party seniors and colleagues ! This will be a watershed moment in TN political history . It was blazing hot and lakhs of people endured it to have a glimpse of our PM @narendramodiji . The pat in the back by Modi ji for @annamalai_k is clear indication to the opponents and naysayers . Historic indeed ❤️🙏🏻Abki Baar 400 paar 😎"

The fourth user claimed, "PM Modi laughingly pats Annamalai on his back after his speech in Tirupur, Tamilnadu. Bonhomie between these two leaders shows how much Modi trusts Annamalai. Each pat on @annamalai_k's back by PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, is an extra seat from Tamil Nadu. 6 seats guaranteed."

The BJP, which has been struggling to find its feet in Tamil Nadu politics, has found a ray of hope in Annamalai, who, according to pre-poll surveys, is popular among Tamils.

As per recent The Federal-Puthiyathalaimurai-Apt 2024 Pre-Poll Survey, the DMK will win big number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, but the most astonishing part of the story is that the BJP's rise. The saffron party, which had failed to open an account in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, is predicted to win around 4 seats. More importantly, it is securing more votes than the established AIADMK party.

The survey claims that for 3.71 per cent, the BJP's vote share is predicted to rise 18.48 per cent. Whereas the AIADMK, which had 18.72 per cent vote share, will get 17.26 per cent votes.
