They Deceive Us, Let Us Down: TVK Chief Vijay Targets DMK On Women's Day After Muslim Outreach

For the first time since founding Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay has openly criticized the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu.

In a Women's Day address, he accused the government of failing to ensure women's safety and vowed political change in the 2026 elections. It comes a day after his Muslim outreach program where he hosted an iftar party in Chennai.

In a video message, Vijay extended his Women's Day wishes to the women of Tamil Nadu, emphasizing that happiness is only possible when security is assured. "We all elected this DMK government together, but now we know how they deceive us and let us down when we trusted them. Change is the only constant," he declared. He urged the people to remain determined for change, assuring them, "In all situations, I will be with you, whether you are a son, brother, sister, or friend."

Vijay Hosts Iftar Party

Meanwhile, Vijay hosted a grand Iftar gathering at YMCA Grounds in Royapettah, Chennai, on Friday. He sported white attire and a skull cap and took part in the evening prayers before breaking the fast.

The event, reportedly organized by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, saw a massive turnout, with imams from 15 mosques across Chennai in attendance. Nearly 3,000 people were accommodated for the feast, and reports suggest that Vijay himself observed a full day of fasting.

Addressing the gathering, Vijay extended his greetings to the Muslim community, acknowledging their commitment to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and the values of humanity and brotherhood. "I am very happy to extend this warm invitation to all the Muslim relatives who followed the life of the great man Prophet Muhammad," he said.

With these back-to-back public appearances, Vijay's political positioning is becoming increasingly assertive, setting the stage for a highly anticipated political battle in 2026.
