The incredible memorials that shows CM Stalin's generosity!
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's efforts to create enduring memories of great leaders are an inspiring initiative as the memorials will serve as a reminder of their contributions. The State government is commissioning memorials and statues to honour the late leaders, scholars and individuals who have made significant contributions to Tamil and Tamil Nadu.

Over the past two years, the State has witnessed the construction of several such monuments and institutions throughout the State without any political bias or party affiliation.
Memorials, statues & projects
During the construction of the Parambikulam Azhiyar irrigation projects, a tragic accident occurred that claimed several lives. As a tribute to the victims, a memorial hall was built.
Additionally, a statue of Lord was erected at a cost of Rs. 17.5 lakh in Chennai's Gandhi Mandapam to honour Dr. P. Subbarayan, who was the Chief Minister of erstwhile Chennai Province. An arena named after Subbarayan was built in Namakkal city too at a cost of Rs 250 crore.
Similarly, a statue and arena were built in Bhavanisagar city of Erode district in honour of Uttama Tyagi Easwaran at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore.
In memory of former minister Govindaswamy, a 'Thiruvuruvachilai' and an 'Arangam' were built in Villupuram district's Valuthareddy village at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore.
A bronze statue of novelist K. Nedunchezhiyan was inaugurated in the Chepauk Government Guest House complex in Chennai.
A new statue was erected at Veeran Sundaralingam Manimandapam in Kavarnagiri of Thoothukudi district at a cost of Rs 48.66 lakh.
Mayuram Munsif Vedanayagam Pillai, who wrote the first novel in Tamil, was honoured with a stadium and statue in Mayiladuthurai, costing Rs 3 crore. At the Chennai Gandhi Mandapam, a project to the tune of Rs 42.43 lakh was undertaken.
A bust of V.O. Chidambaranar was installed. The Ottapidaram residence of Chidambaranar was renovated at a cost of Rs 72.5 lakh. Renovation works were carried out at the Memorial House in Tirunelveli as well audio-visual works on the biography of Chidambaranar were produced.
Moreover, improvements were made to V.U. Chidambaranar Park in Coimbatore at a cost of Rs 43.7 lakh.
After the statue of Chidambaranar was erected, the government issued an order to allocate Rs 18 lakh to erect a statue of Veerapandiya Kattabomman at the Gandhi Mandapam Complex in Chennai.
A statue of the Maruthu brothers, who were rulers of the Sivaganga region, was also erected at the Gandhi Mandapam Complex in Chennai at a cost of Rs 34 lakh.
A statue of freedom fighter Anjalai Ammal was installed in Cuddalore while the Chennai University campus has a statue of our former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Similarly, Queen Mary College in Chennai has a statue of Rabindranath Tagore, the Bengal poet who wrote the national anthem. A statue of Lord Ramamirtham was erected at Muvalur in Mayiladuthurai while Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy's statue was erected on the Pudukkottai Government Medical College campus.
Upgradations are being made to the Chennai Gandhi Mandapam Museum, Kamaraja Memorial Hall, Periyavar Bhaktavatsalam Memorial Hall and Mutharinjarrajaji Memorial Hall at a cost of Rs 3.38 crore.
This is how the government led by M.K. Stalin is honouring the legacies of various individuals through several initiatives.
This includes the unveiling of a statue at the Annal Ambedkar Mani Mandapam in Raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai, the awarding of Rs 4 crore to the families of 21 social justice activists who were killed in police firing during the 1987 reservation protests, and the inauguration of a memorial with a statue and library for late writer K. Rajanarayanan.
The government is also funding the renovation of Bharatiyar's House in Kashi, Uttar Pradesh, at a cost of Rs 18 lakh and laying the foundation stone for the Fernandes Mani Mandapam in Tuticorin.
Overall, the government is dedicated to preserving the memories of individuals who have worked for the betterment of the country.
