Thalapathy Vijay Launches TVK Party Flag, Pledges To Fight For Equality

Thalapathy Vijay officially unveiled the flag of his newly formed political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on Thursday. The flag, featuring a flower and two elephants, is designed in red and yellow.

Vijay has announced that the symbolism behind these elements will be disclosed during the party's first public meeting, which is anticipated to take place in September.

The flag launch ceremony was a significant event, attended by Vijay's parents, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar and Shobha. The occasion also saw the release of the party's anthem, composed by renowned musician S Thaman.

In his address at the event, Vijay expressed his pride and commitment to the cause, stating, "I know you all are eagerly awaiting our first state conference. Preparations are underway, and I will announce it soon. Today, I proudly unveil our party's flag as a symbol of our collective dedication. Together, we will work for the development of Tamil Nadu."

Following the unveiling, Vijay took a pledge, declaring, "We will always honor the fighters who sacrificed their lives for our nation's freedom and those who tirelessly fought for the rights of our people from Tamil soil. I pledge to eliminate differences based on caste, religion, gender, and birthplace, to raise awareness, and to strive for equal opportunities and rights for all. I solemnly affirm my commitment to upholding the principle of equality for all living beings."

On Wednesday, the Tamil actor, in a statement said, "It is a great blessing if every day is a new direction and a new force in history. 22nd August 2024 is the day that God and nature have given us as such a blessing. It is the day when the flag, the main symbol of our Tamil Nadu Victory Club, will be introduced."

"Working for the welfare of Tamil Nadu, we will introduce our heroic flag, the victory flag, which will become the symbol of our state, tomorrow at our headquarters."

The actor, who is prepping up for the release of his latest movie 'GOAT', floated the party in February. However, the party stood out of the Lok Sabha polls, but aims to contest in the 2026 assembly elections.
