Thalapathy Vijay Eyes Tiruchy's Historic G-Corner Ground For TVK's First Major Political Rally: Deets Inside

Actor-turned-politician Vijay is gearing up to demonstrate his political strength following the launch of his new party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). With his film 'GOAT' nearing completion, Vijay has now shifted his focus to politics, planning a grand public event that could set the stage for his political ambitions.

Recognizing the importance of public events as a show of strength for any political party, Vijay has set his sights on the G-Corner Ground in Tiruchy, a venue with a rich political history. The Tiruchy railway division has been approached to host TVK's maiden conference at this location, according to a report in The New Indian Express.

This venue, with its rich political history, has hosted some of the most prominent political figures, including Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and the late Chief Ministers M. Karunanidhi and J. Jayalalithaa. Notably, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan also held the inaugural conference of his party at the same location.

TVK's letter to the railway division mentions that the event is planned between September 20 and 23, with Vijay himself covering the rental costs. The party aims to accommodate a staggering 10 lakh attendees, reflecting the massive scale of the event.

However, the railway authorities have yet to grant permission. The G-Corner Ground spans roughly 10 acres. Also, the party has not specified an exact date for the meeting, leading the railway to likely request a revised proposal from TVK, confirming whether they are willing to proceed with the event at the available land.

Vijay officially launched Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in February and, while he chose not to participate in the Lok Sabha polls, he has set his sights on contesting in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2026. This upcoming public event in Tiruchy could be a critical step in solidifying his political presence in the state.
