Thalapathy Vijay Attacks PM Modi, CM Stalin, Declares TVK Is The Only Challenger To DMK In 2026 Polls

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin during a party event on Friday, asserting that he is unafraid to call out their names directly.

Vijay, who had so far refrained from naming political figures explicitly, broke his silence and challenged the ruling governments at both the Centre and the state. "They act as if I am scared to mention names. We usually refer to the Centre, but who is in power there? Congress? We say the state government, but who runs it? AIADMK? You wanted me to mention names, and here I am doing it," he declared.

The actor-turned-politician accused both the DMK and BJP of being secret allies and claimed that the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would be a direct contest between TVK and DMK. "This is an election between only two parties - TVK vs DMK," he asserted, positioning his party as the primary challenger to Stalin's government.

Slams Centre on Key Issues

Vijay sharply criticized the Modi government on issues such as GST, delimitation, and the devolution of funds. Taking a dig at the Centre's policies, he questioned why Tamil Nadu was being sidelined despite being a significant contributor to GST. "Modiji, why is Tamil Nadu an allergy for you? You collect GST from our state, yet when it comes to budget allocations, there are no funds for our students or development," he charged.

He also attacked the BJP's push for a three-language policy, calling it an imposition on Tamil Nadu's linguistic identity. Additionally, he voiced concerns over the 'One Nation, One Election' proposal and the potential impact of delimitation plans, accusing the BJP of attempting to weaken Tamil Nadu's political representation.

A Call for Sensitivity

Vijay warned the Prime Minister to handle Tamil Nadu with sensitivity, stressing that the state's interests cannot be ignored. "I request PM Modiji to handle Tamil Nadu carefully," he said, hinting at growing political resistance in the state.

Ending his fiery speech on an assertive note, he quoted: "For men may come and men may go, but I go on forever," signaling his long-term commitment to politics. With the 2026 elections on the horizon, Vijay's remarks have set the stage for an intense political battle in Tamil Nadu.
