Tech-Driven Elections: DMK's BLA2 Meetings Transforming Political Strategies
Revolutionizing electoral strategies and transcending traditional campaigning, the DMK party, led by Chief Minister Stalin, has embarked on an unprecedented journey of political innovation in recent booth level meeting.
The BLA2 (Booth Level Agents 2) meetings, a brainchild of CM Stalin, was not just gatherings; they are high-tech, data-driven initiatives that are reshaping the landscape of political planning in Tamil Nadu. In this feature, we delve into the intricacies of DMK's cutting-edge election strategies, exploring how technology, training, and a visionary approach are setting the stage for the 2024 parliamentary elections like never before.

CM Stalin has started the field works for the upcoming parliamentary elections in full swing 2 months ago. Last July, in Bengaluru, 26 parties led by Congress announced the decision of renaming their alliance as 'INDIA'.
DMK, ready for elections 6 months ago
Earlier, Congress plus 26 parties gathered in Patna, Bihar's capital, on June 23. This compelled the ruling party and its alliance (NDA) to hold a meeting to show their preparedness. Either way, DMK has started making plans for the 2024 elections 6 months ago. CM Stalin takes things in his hands and executes them in his favour by using strategies, which is a trait of a diplomat.
DMK's winning formula BLA2
The formula devised by CM Stalin who is determined to defeat BJP in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections is BLA2 (Booth Level Agents 2).

CM Stalin has emerged as an expert who formulates political strategies for winning the upcoming elections, one such strategy is BLA2. No other party in Tamil Nadu has finalised even the committees at the party leadership level let alone the polling station meetings.
In this situation, DMK has completed 3 polling station conference meetings for 5 zones so far and about 68500 persons have been technically trained.
68500 DMK Army personnel ready on field
On 26th July, the first meeting of BLA2 was held in Trichy, in which 12000 persons participated to learn things through formal polling training courses. The second meeting was held in Ramanathapuram on 17th August, in which 18000 persons underwent training.
14000 persons were trained in the 3rd meeting held in Kangeyam on 24th September and 12500 persons participated in the 4th meeting held in Tiruvannamalai on 22nd October. The 5th polling station training meeting was held on 5th November, in which 12000 persons participated.

When parties like ADMK are not even declaring their election strategies openly, DMK has held meetings in 5 zones and provided proper training to their polling officers, that too the meetings are formal ones, not like name-sake meetings conducted by ADMK to create an illusion.
Statistics in CM Stalin's hand
CM Stalin criticised ADMK and BJP parties in the fishermen welfare conference held in Ramanathapuram using the data available in his hands. He also reminded BJP about PM Modi's promise to Rameswaram people that if BJP comes to power, no fishermen will be left to die in vain.

CM Stalin's criticism is based on the fact that 48 attacks happened in the last 9 years, in which 619 fishermen were arrested and 83 fishing boats were confiscated. The data stands testimony to the fact that the BJP government did nothing about the promise made to the public.
In the BLA2 meetings CM Stalin said, "Home minister and Finance Minister's criticisms show that DMK is moving on the right path. Being a party which gained prominence mainly by criticising DMK, ADMK has no inspiring stories of sacrifices or ideologies of its own, which is the reason why it is now upholding the ideologies of BJP.
DMK is a party which does not fear false accusations and allegations made by opposition parties like BJP and ADMK. Despite being a state party, DMK is the only party in the state that voices the grievances of the public."
BLA2 High-tech facilitated meetings
Realising the principles of DMK, other political parties in India are supporting it. DMK's aim in the upcoming elections is to lead the country by winning all 40 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

With the support of other similar ideological parties, Congress has formed 'INDIA', an all-India alliance formed as a part of strategies to win elections. In the 2024 elections, the election slogan will be 'To save India, Vote for INDIA'.
CM Stalin said, "Usually, it is BJP's tradition to call anyone who opposes them as anti-Indians but ironically being an opposition party to the INDIA alliance, BJP members have now become anti-Indians."
In order to win the elections, many changes have been brought by DMK, one such change is the usage of technology. As opposed to the ordinary public meetings held in the past, the current BLA2 meetings contain many modern equipment to introduce technologies.
Some of the changes brought by DMK include the distribution of ID cards to the in-charges with QR code printed on it to avoid fakes and creation of a separate dashboard to know the geographical spread of the initiative by monitoring the district and village information of the participants.
No other party has brought such high-five techniques in their election strategies in Tamil Nadu.
Realising that pure technical knowledge will bore the volunteers, CM Stalin has brought in a selfie booth to take selfies with the Chief Minister; a separate selfie booth facilitated by an LED for the 'Kalaignar 100' (centenary year) and a separate booth to commemorate the DMK's 75th anniversary.

New data collected by volunteers
Apart from the entertaining modern features, a book has been given to the polling officers detailing the schemes implemented in Tamil Nadu after DMK came to power. The book helps in spreading information about DMK's achievements to grass-root level volunteers who can intellectually advocate for their party and lead a campaign convincing others also to vote for the party.
The main focus of the BLA2 meeting is D2D, meaning Door to Door explanation of DMK's achievements which is also the intention behind the distribution of the book. Apart from the book, a form has also been given to the in-charges who in turn will give the form to the public.
The public should fill the form with the information of best programs introduced during the last 2 and a half years of DMK rule and the change brought by them. The filled form will be collected back to prepare a database which will change the fate of Tamil Nadu. This shows the extent to which DMK is employing techniques to formulate election strategies.
