Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Yellow Alert For 6 Districts
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued yellow alert to six districts in Tamil Nadu for today.
"Light to moderate rain at a few places with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds with speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu,
Puducherry and Karaikal area. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Chengalpattu districts," a statement from the RMC said.

A weather blogger, who goes by 'Tamil Nadu Weatherman', predicted good rains for North Tamil Nadu and the KTCC (Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Chennai).
He wrote, "In one line - Another mass day for Tamil Nadu widespread thunderstorms. So many cumulus developments over North TN around Vellore-KTCC (Chennai), North Interior TN and South TN around Kodai-Madurai belt. Ideal for Thunderstorms to develop. Going to be very good day for North Tamil Nadu Thunderstorms with Vellore-Ranipet and KTCC (Chennai) and also for Madurai-Sivagangai-Pudukottai belt."
Meanwhile, Perungalur in Pudukkottai district recorded the highest rainfall on Wednesday with 8 cm. This was followed by 7 cm in Aruppukottai KVK AWS (Virudhunagar district), Tirumayam (Pudukkottai district), and Kovilankulam (Virudhunagar district). Jayamkondam (Ariyalur district) and Thiruchuzhi (Virudhunagar district) each received 6 cm of rainfall.
While Palayamkottai recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37.1°C on Wednesday, Erode recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 18.0°C.
