Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Rains Are Back As 5 Dists Today, 17 Tomorrow To Get Heavy Downpour
After the havoc caused by Cyclone Fengal, heavy rains have returned to Tamil Nadu, prompting the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) to issue a yellow alert for multiple districts over the coming days.
Tuesday: Heavy Rains Expected

On Tuesday, districts including Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and the Karaikal area are on yellow alert, signaling heavy rainfall.
Wednesday: More Districts to Be Affected
The rain's intensity is predicted to expand, with 17 districts on yellow alert on Wednesday. Key areas include Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Kallakurichi, Villuppuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Thursday: Torrential Downpours Likely
Heavy rains are expected to impact Thanjavur, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, and Tiruchirappalli. Several other districts, including the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Chennai, remain on yellow alert for potential flooding and disruptions.
Friday: Widespread Rainfall Predicted
Districts across the western and southern regions, such as Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari, are also on yellow alert for Friday.
Monday: The Trend Continues
The alert persists into Monday for Chengalpattu, Villuppuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Kanyakumari recorded the highest maximum temperature of 33.9°C on Monday, while Erode reported the lowest minimum temperature at 17.5°C.
