Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Rain Alert For These Districts For 3 Days
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has predicted light to moderate rains for the next few days for several districts in Tamil Nadu.
"Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Nilgiris district and Ghat areas of Coimbatore districts of Tamilnadu. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Kanyakumari district; Ghat areas of Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu," the weather agency said in a statement.

According to the RMC forecast, expect partly cloudy skies today. There's a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in certain areas during the evening and night. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 35-36°C, with minimum temperatures likely to be around 27-28°C.
For the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am today, maximum temperatures remained close to normal across most areas and exceeded normal levels by 2-3°C in isolated spots across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
The highest maximum temperature, reaching 37.2°C, was observed in Vellore. Across various regions, maximum temperatures ranged from 31-37°C in the plains of North Interior Tamilnadu, 34-37°C in the plains of South Interior Tamilnadu, 34-37°C in North Coastal Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal area, 29-36°C in South Coastal Tamilnadu, and 18°C-25°C in hilly areas.
Chennai recorded a normal maximum temperature, with NBK at 36.8°C (-0.2°C) and MBK at 36.8°C (-0.4°C).
In the last 24 hours, Pandalur in the Nilgiris district registered highest rains with 9 cms.
