Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rains Predicted In 11 Districts Over Next 2 Days
Eleven districts in Tamil Nadu are expected to experience heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday, according to a forecast by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
In a statement released on Friday, the RMC has issued yellow alert for Friday for the Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Dindigul districts, Nilgiris district, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruppur, Theni, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.

Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari districts, Ghat areas of Coimbatore district, Nilgiris, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Theni, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Toothukudi districts have been issued an yellow alert.
A yellow alert is triggered when expected rainfall ranges between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm, indicating that the current bad weather conditions are likely to worsen.
The RMC said that the sky condition in Chennai is likely to be partly cloudy. "Light/Moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum temperature is likely to be 34-35°C and Minimum temperature is likely to be 27-28°C,"
The weather agency has predicted light to moderate rain for the Ghat areas of Coimbatore district, Nilgiris, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Theni districts for Sunday.
The RMC stated that Kodaikannal Boat Club in Dindigul district highest rains at 6 cms rains.
