Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Predicted For Next 5 Days For These Districts

The Regional Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain for several districts for the next five days.

Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts are predicted to get heavy rains till May 13.

During the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am today, maximum temperatures across Tamil Nadu were generally within normal ranges, with some areas experiencing slightly above normal temperatures. In particular, certain pockets in the interior plains of Tamil Nadu recorded notably higher temperatures, while coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal reported normal temperatures.

For weeks, many districts have recorded over 40.0°C. However, the temperature has dipped in many places.

The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Karur Paramathi at 41.5°C, marking a deviation of +5.2°C, followed closely by Erode at 41.4°C with a deviation of +3.9°C.

In the rest of the interior plains of Tamil Nadu, temperatures ranged between 37°C to 39°C. Coastal areas experienced temperatures ranging from 34°C to 37°C, while hilly regions reported temperatures between 22°C to 29°C.

According to the Regional Meteorological Department (RMD), the sky is expected to be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in certain areas. The maximum temperature is forecasted to range between 35-36°C, while the minimum temperature is anticipated to be around 28-29°C.
