Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Expected in Nilgiris And Coimbatore This Weekend
The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted heavy rains for the Nilgiris district and the ghat areas of Coimbatore for Saturday.
"Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places Nilgiris district & Ghat areas of Coimbatore district," the weather agency said in its daily bulletin.

It has predicted light to moderate rain in one or two places in the state for Sunday.
As far as the Chennai weather is concerned, the RMC said that the sky condition for the next two days will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning.
The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34-35°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be 27-28°C.
On Friday, the highest rainfall was recorded at Avalanche in The Nilgiris district, with 10 cm. This was followed by Upper Bhavani (also in The Nilgiris) with 8 cm. Naduvattam, Upper Gudalur, PWD Makkinampatti (all in The Nilgiris), and Gudalur Bazar (in The Nilgiris) each received 6 cm of rain.
