Tamil Nadu Weather Update: 9 Locations Record Double-Digit Rainfall; 15 Dists To Get Heavy Rains Today
Tamil Nadu witnessed intense rainfall on Tuesday, with nine locations recording double-digit rainfall figures, the Regional Meterological Centre said in its daily bulletin.
Nalumukku in Tirunelveli district received the highest rainfall, measuring 17 cm. Oothu (Tirunelveli) and Kodiayakarai (Nagapattinam) followed closely, with each receiving 15 cm.

Other notable rainfall figures included Kakkachi (14 cm), Tirupoondi (13 cm), Thirukuvalai (11 cm), and several locations like Vedaranyam, Manjolai, and Ramanathapuram recording 10 cm each. Thalaignayer saw 9 cm, while Velankanni and Paramakudi reported 8 cm each.
Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Tamil Nadu
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall for 15 districts on Wednesday, including Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, and Tenkasi.
On Thursday, districts like Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, and Ramanathapuram, along with the Karaikal region, are expected to experience heavy downpours.
As far as the Chennai weather is concerned, light rain is expected in some areas and mist is likely to occur during early morning hours, the RMC said.
Cold Nights for KTCC Region
Weather blogger R Pradeep John, known as Tamil Nadu Weatherman, predicted chilly nights for the KTCC (Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu) region. In a social media update, he mentioned: "Cold nights are in store for KTCC. Meanwhile, very heavy rains are expected in regions such as Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Thenkasi, and Tirunelveli. Parts of Virudhunagar and Theni may also receive rainfall. For KTCC, widespread rains will begin from November 26."
