Tamil Nadu Weather Update: 4 Districts Exceed 42°C, 14 Districts To Get Rain Today
Four districts in Tamil Nadu recorded over 42.0°C and a total of 10 districts registered over 40.0°C on Tuesday.
Going by the daily data released by the Regional Meteorological Department, the highest maximum temperature recorded was in Karur Paramathi at 43.5°C, marking a rise of 7.2°C. Erode followed closely at 43.2°C with a 5.7°C increase, while Tiruchirappalli_AP reached 42.7°C, up by 4.6°C. Vellore registered 42.6°C, up by 3.6°C, and Madurai_AP hit 42.2°C, marking a 4.6°C increase. Other temperatures include Tiruthani at 41.6°C (+1.7°C), Tirupattur at 41.4°C (+4.2°C), Palayamkottai at 41.2°C (+3.8°C), Salem at 40.8°C (+3.6°C), and Madurai City at 40.8°C (+4.3°C).

Across the plains of the rest of Interior Tamil Nadu, temperatures ranged from 38-40°C. Coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal experienced temperatures between 35°C to 38°C, while hilly areas saw temperatures ranging from 24°C to 30°C.
Rain Relief
The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD) forecasts light to moderate rain at a few locations, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph at isolated spots across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Furthermore, heavy rainfall is anticipated at isolated places in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore, and Virudhunagar.
As far as Chennai weather is concerned, it is expected to be partly cloudy with maximum temperatures ranging from 36-37°C and minimum temperatures around 28-29°C.
On Wednesday morning, Chennai experienced light showers accompanied by chilly winds in several locations. Various areas across the city, such as Chennai Central, Egmore, Purasawalkam, Guindy, Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam, Saidapet, Alandur, Meenambakkam, Chromepet, Pallavaram, Ashok Nagar, Adyar, Mylapore, Vadapalani, Tambaram, Vandalur, Ayappakkam, and Nandanam, received rainfall.
