Tamil Nadu Weather Alert: Expect Late Evening Rains In Chennai For Next 4 Days; Heavy Downpour In Nilgiris
Chennai and its suburbs are expected to receive late evening rains for the next four days.
The upcoming days are favorable for thunderstorms over the leeward areas of Tamil Nadu before the monsoon enters an active phase, independent weather blogger who gives weather updaes on its Twitter handle Chennai Rains (COMK) noted.

Currently, thunderstorms around Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts have weak steering and may not reach the Chennai coast but could trigger isolated storms in a few areas. Meanwhile, parts of South Tamil Nadu, including Pudukkottai and Sivaganga districts, are experiencing intense spells of rain, the blogger added.
The Regional Meteorological Department noted that Chennai is expected to have partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is likely in some areas during the evening or night, the weather agency said in its daily bulletin on Thursday. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 30-31°C, while the minimum temperature will likely be 25-26°C.
In addition to it, the RMC has predicted heavy rains at isolated places over Nilgiris district & Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni and Dindigul districts.
