Tamil Nadu Weather: 27 Districts To Get Heavy Rains Today
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall across parts of Tamil Nadu over the next few days.
Heavy rains are predicted to lash at least 27 districts on Tuesday. They are Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Cuddalore districts.

For Saturday, the forecast includes heavy rain for Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, and Sivagangai.
In Chennai, skies are expected to be partly cloudy, with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning possible in some areas. The maximum temperature is expected to be 32-33°C, with a minimum of 25-26°C.
On Thursday, Karur Paramathi recorded the highest temperature at 36°C, while Erode saw the lowest at 18.6°C. The Nilgiris district reported the highest rainfall, with 11 cm recorded at Kil Kotagiri Estate, followed by Vint Worth Estate at 10 cm, Mettupalayam and Periyanaickenpalayam (Coimbatore) at 9 cm, and Thuckalay (Kanyakumari) at 8 cm.
