Tamil Nadu School Holidays 2024 From October 3: Check School Reopening Date

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced an extension of the quarterly holiday for students, pushing the reopening date from October 3rd to October 7th.

The decision follows a request from the teachers' union, ensuring both students and teachers have adequate time during the break.

Initially, the schools were scheduled to reopen on October 3rd, after quarterly exams for students in classes 6 to 10, which began on September 27th.

However, with the extension, the holiday now spans nine days, aligning with previous years and factoring in weekends and the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.

Although students receive an extended break, teachers are required to evaluate the exam answer sheets during this period. They must also upload the results to the EMIS system before the reopening.

The department's decision allows teachers sufficient time for grading and administrative tasks while giving students a well-deserved longer vacation.
