Tamil Nadu School Holiday: These Dists To Get Offs On July 23, 24, 28 - Know Why Here
Tamil Nadu students have not got any additional holidays other than Sundays ever since the schools began in the first week of June.
For their disappointment, the Moharam festival too fell on Sunday. Well, here is some exciting news. In the next 10 days, there are three holidays coming up.

Hold on! The entire state will not get a holiday rather, schools will remain closed on July 23, 24 and 28 in different districts in the days to come.
Those planning to travel can totally make use of this window. Bonus? July 28 falls on a Monday, so if you're in Chengalpattu, you've got a Saturday-Sunday-Monday streak. Not just students-even government employees are celebrating this!
Here's a breakdown of the local holidays:
July 23 - Ariyalur District
Ariyalur gets a day off for the Thiruvathirai Festival, celebrated during Aadi month in honor of Rajendra Chola's birthday. The festival sees lakhs of devotees taking part, and now it's officially recognized as a government festival.
To make up for the day off, Saturday, July 26 will be a full working day in Ariyalur.
July 24 - Kanyakumari District
Kanyakumari folks will get a break on Adi Amavasai (July 24), a day when people perform rituals like Tithi and Darpanam to honor their ancestors.
Due to the expected crowd turnout, the district administration has announced a local holiday for both schools and government offices.
To compensate, Saturday, August 9 will be a working day.
July 28 - Chengalpattu District
On July 28, Chengalpattu district gets a holiday for the Aadipura Festival held at Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Siddhar Peedham. It's a big spiritual event in the region.
As with others, the missed working day will be compensated on August 9, which falls on a Saturday.
