Tamil Nadu Pre-Poll Survey: Can DMK Retain Power In TN? Check This Opinion Poll

In a recent political survey conducted by Agni News, the performance of the Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin received mixed but notable feedback. The findings suggest that 49% of participants are satisfied with the current government, reflecting strong public support for many of its initiatives.

Additionally, 17% of respondents reported being somewhat satisfied, indicating that while certain sectors have improved, others still require attention. On the other hand, 34% expressed dissatisfaction, voicing concerns about specific policies and decisions.

DMK Projected to Win 164 Seats if Elections Were Held Now

The survey also predicts a sweeping lead for the DMK alliance, which is expected to win 164 seats if Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were conducted today. In contrast, the AIADMK alliance may secure just 70 seats, according to responses from 21,150 participants.

This projection is significant, especially as the same survey group accurately forecasted the DMK's performance in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the party swept 39 seats. These results highlight growing public faith in DMK's governance and may serve as a warning sign for AIADMK and NDA partners ahead of the 2026 state elections.

Political Reactions and Strategy Overhaul

The results have sparked discussion across political circles in Tamil Nadu. With the DMK enjoying a clear lead, opposition parties like AIADMK may need to rethink their election strategies to stay competitive.

As part of its preparation, the DMK government is expected to conduct intelligence-based surveys in five phases before the elections. These internal polls aim to assess voter preferences, identify favorable constituencies, and pinpoint potential candidates.

This phased approach will also help evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of both the DMK and AIADMK. Analysts say the findings will influence candidate selection and policy promises, potentially boosting DMK's chances of re-election.

With the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, this survey underscores the current political landscape and lays the groundwork for tactical decision-making by all major parties.
