TN polls: Surveys by 2 magazines predict unpredictable results in many seats

Chennai, May 13: Two more pre-polls surveys came out ahead of the May 16 election in Tamil Nadu---both by two renowned magazines---Nakkeeran and Junior Vikatan.

While the survey conducted by the renowned 'Nakkeeran' magazine predicted 133 seats for the DMK alliance, the ruling AIADMK alliance is expected to get 75 seats. The PMK and the Third Front may get one seat each. [What other opinion polls on TN said]

It said the results in 24 seats are unpredictable because of a very close contest. It also predicted the defeat of the PMK's Anbumani Ramadoss, the former Union minister, in Pennagaram where he is expected to finish even third. [Karunanidhi has 12-0 record in Assembly elections]

The other magazine, 'Junior Vikatan', known for investigative journalism, predicted a far closer result with the DMK alliance winning 77 seats as against the AIADMK alliance's 73. The PMK may see only one winner in Anbumani Ramadoss.

The interesting part of this survey is that it has held results unpredictable in as many as 83 seats.

Tamil Nadu has a total of 234 Assembly seats. The results of the May 16 election will be declared on May 19, along with those of Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry.
