Tamil Nadu MDMK MP Ganeshamurthi Passes Away; Suicide Suspected
Popular leader of Tamil Nadu's Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), A Ganeshamurthi passed away on Thursday at a private hospital in Coimbatore. According to the reports, Ganeshamurthi was hospitalised since March 24 and took his last breath today morning. Doctors said that he passed away following a cardiac arrest, while some reports claimed that he tried to commit suicide.
A Ganeshamurthi was a sitting MP from Tamil Nadu's Erode constituency.

According to police reports, the MDMK leader complained about uneasiness and issues in breathing on March 23, after which, he was admitted to a hospital in Erode by his family. His condition was critical from day 1 as doctors put him on a ventilator in the intensive care unit (ICU) after the initial check-up.
Later, when his condition was getting out of control, doctors referred MP to a Coimbatore hospital.
Several politicians including state minister for urban development and housing S Muthusamy, BJP MLA from Modakurichi Dr C Saraswathy, and AIADMK leader K V Ramalingam had visited Ganeshamurthi in the hospital and now everyone is in grief after the MDMK leader's death.
News agency PTI reported that Ganeshamurthi's body will be taken to Kumaravalasu village, 15 km from Erode, after the postmortem, where it will be buried.
Ganeshamoorthy had previously won the Lok Sabha polls from Palani in 1998 and Erode in 2009.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
