Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Opinion Poll: DMK Powers INDIA Bloc In Down South, Likely To Clean Sweep All 39 Seats

With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, a recent poll survey conducted by CVoter in collaboration with ABP News has shed light on the political happenings in Tamil Nadu. According to the survey, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), led by Chief Minister MK Stalin and part of the INDIA bloc, is poised for a significant win in the state. The DMK and its allies are expected to sweep all 39 Lok Sabha seats, leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) without a foothold.

The INDIA bloc in Tamil Nadu, comprising parties like Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK, MDMK, Makkal Needhi Maiam, Indian Union Muslim League, Kongu Desa Makkal Katchi, and the DMK, is anticipated to dominate the electoral landscape. The poll suggests DMK could secure 31 seats, while Congress might win 8, mirroring the results of the 2019 elections. The INDIA bloc's major partner in state, DMK's vote share is projected at 54.7%, with the AIADMK trailing at 27.8%.

Interestingly, the BJP is expected to see an increase in its vote share compared to the 2019 General Elections, though it is unlikely to win any seats. Independent candidates and regional parties not aligned with any major alliance are predicted to garner 6.8% of the vote share.

Political maneuvers continue as the BJP negotiates with TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) to consolidate its position in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the AIADMK's strategy for seat-sharing remains under wraps. Reports indicate potential collaborations with Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), suggesting AIADMK might allocate 7 Lok Sabha seats to PMK and 4 to DMDK.

It is to be noted that the surveying agency conducted recorded responses of 41,762 voters of Tamil Nadu though on-ground reporting, telephonic interviews, and computer-assisted interviews between February 1 to March 10, 2024. The margin of error in the survey stands at 5% plus and minus.
