Tamil Nadu Latest Weather Report: Heavy Rain Alert For Chennai, Chengalpattu & Several Other Places
The Regional Meteorological Department on Thursday issued heavy to moderate rain and thunderstorm warnings for Chennai, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Pudukottai, and 12 other districts for the next two days and also predicted heavy rainfall for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on 2 and 3 December
In the latest press release, the weather-monitoring agency said many places will receive light to moderate with thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas.

For the next two days, the RMD has predicted: "Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi districts of Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area."
As far as the Chennai weather is concerned, the maximum temperature in the state capital is likely to be around 29°C and the minimum temperature is likely to be 25°C.
Meanwhile, several parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, were drenched with incessant rainfall on Wednesday evening, leading to the inundation of several low-lying areas, heavy traffic jams, and disruption to normal life.
On Wednesday, Chennai witnessed heavy rainfall throughout the day. The evening saw a surge in the intensity of the showers, leading to significant traffic congestion throughout the city.
The rains prompted the district administrations of Chennai and Chengalpattu to declare a holiday for schools on Thursday.
