Tamil Nadu in No.1 position, overtaking Karnataka – CM Stalin’s well deserved success of 233% growth in last 2

In India, Tamil Nadu is in the top position as far as electronics export is concerned. The electronics export value of Tamil Nadu has increased to 5.37 billion USD (Indian rupee value - 44,044 crores). The combined growth rate for the last 2 years is 233%. From fourth position last year, Tamil Nadu has advanced to the first position in just one year. After 10 years Tamil Nadu has bagged the first position in electronics export.

Following Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh is in second place, Karnataka in third, Maharashtra in fourth, Gujarat in fifth and Delhi is in sixth place. The most important thing is that Tamil Nadu has advanced to the 1st position, overtaking all the BJP ruling states. Reason being, CM Stalin's participation in more industry specific programs. Regarding the achievement, CM Stalin in his tweet has given the credit to the Dravidian model of his government. As per the tweet, the aspiration of the DMK government is to make Tamil Nadu a first choice for the investors as well as to make it an investment hub in South Asia.

According to economist Reggie Thomas, out of India's total electronics exports of 25 billion USD, Tamil Nadu's contribution is 22.83%. The first reason for this growth is measures taken up by the government and secondly Tamil Nadu is considered as the capital of engineering studies in India. It is a proud moment for Tamil Nadu for advancing to first position and also for overtaking Karnataka, mainly due to the lack of an electronic city in Tamil Nadu. On the other hand Karnataka has an electronic city which makes Tamil Nadu's achievement a commendable one. "Tamil Nadu's achievement stands testimony to the fact that a state cannot rise to the top position by merely establishing a city", said Reggie Thomas.

Sivakumar, the Chairman of a private electronics company said that the percentage of vocational students in Tamil Nadu is high and there is no shortage for the availability of workers also, which aided the achievement. The Tamil Nadu government is taking immediate steps to bring new technologies in industries by extending financial assistance. This serves as the main reason for the entrepreneurs not undergoing any financial hardship for acquiring the equipment for new technologies.

Apart from this, bank loans are also provided in a swift manner. All these factors played a major role in increasing the electronic exports. Another factor which aided the growth is the prevalence of increased demand for electronics products in the market. According to Sivakumar, taking into account the present scenario of Tamil Nadu and the global demand, the current export value of 44000 crores will exponentially increase to 1 lakh crores within 3 years. "Tamil Nadu government has set the target for achieving a 1 trillion USD economy and the growth in the electronics sector will create a ripple effect for growth in other sectors also", said Sivakumar.

Finally DMK MP Kalanidhi Veeraswamy said that the present GDP calculation of Tamil Nadu is 18 lakh crores. CM Stalin announced to increase this amount to 1 trillion dollars which is 80 lakh crores as per today's dollar exchange value,which means advancing the economy 4 times more within 2030. The task of advancement of the economy was taken by CM Stalin for which he started works immediately in the required sectors.

As a result of this, Tamil Nadu has become a desirable place among investors and start-ups. Tamil Nadu has growth in angel investment and also has become the major state for manufacturing industries in India. Professor Meenakshi, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in Anna University said that the contribution of electronics is not sector specific nowadays, it is seen even in the medical field, specifically in medical surgery. The fast developing 5G technology will widen the scope of electronics in the coming days. The future education system will transform to an electronic system of learning.
