Tamil Nadu Holiday List 2024: Check Out State Government Holidays For The Year

The government employees in Tamil Nadu get 24 holidays in 2024 apart from their casual and privileged leaves.

The government offices will remain closed on all Saturdays and Sundays which will be applicable to all all state government undertakings, corporations and boards, according to an order issued by Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena stated earlier.

In January alone, there are six holidays, starting with New Year on January 1. The list includes Pongal (January 15), Thiruvallur Day (January 16), Uzhavar Thirunal (January 17), Thai Poosam (January 25), and Republic Day (January 26)

Likewise, there are five government holidays in the month of April. Check out the list:

• Pongal - January 15
• Thiruvallur Day - January 16
• Uzhavar Thriunal - January 17
• Thai Poosam - January 25
• Republic Day - January 26
• Good Friday - March 29
• April 1 - co-operative and commercial banks in Tamil Nadu will close accounts on the first of the month.
• Ramzan - April 11
• Tamil New Year/Dr B R Ambedkar's birthday - April 14
• Mahaveer Jayanthi - April 21
• May Day - May 1
• Bakrid - June 16
• Muharram - July 17)
• Independence Day - August 15
• Krishna Jayanthi - August 26
• Vinayakar Chaturthi - September 7
• Milad-un-Nabi -September 16
• Gandhi Jayanthi - October 2)
• Ayudha Puja - October 11

However, there are no holidays in the month of February and November.
