Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Hospitalised In Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was hospitalised on Monday over mild giddiness during his morning walk, according to reports in the Tamil media.

He is being treated at Apollo Hospital in Greams Road in Chennai and undergoing medical evaluation and necessary diagnostic tests.

"His symptoms are being evaluated, and necessary diagnostic tests are being done," Dr Anil B G, Director, Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals, stated in a medical bulletin.

72-year-old Stalin is the eighth Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and has been and current CM since 2021. He has also been the President of the DMK since 2018.

On Saturday, Stalin lost his step-brother, MK Muthu, who was 77.

Chief Minister Stalin paid tribute to his elder brother both in person and through an emotional social media post. "The news of the passing of my beloved elder brother, MK Muthu, the eldest son of our family's pillar Kalaignar, has struck me like lightning. He loved me as much as our parents did. I am deeply pained by the loss of someone so close to my heart," CM Stalin wrote on his official 'X' handle.

Stalin reminisced that their father named Muthu after their grandfather Muthuveeran. "Like our father, Muthu contributed to the Dravidian movement through theatre from a young age. He had a unique style in acting, dialogue delivery, and body language. It was this passion that drew him into cinema in the 1970s," CM Stalin added.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu CM is preparing for the state elections which is expected to begin in in May 2026.
