Tamil Nadu SSLC, Class 12 Exams To Be Held Before State Polls: Check Important Dates

The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (TNDGE) will conduct the Class 10 and 12 exams in the month of March.

While the Class 10 exams will be held between March 3 to 27, the exams for Class 12 will be conducted between March 2 and 26.

It is reported that the results will be declared on May 8 for Class 12 and on May 20 for Class 10.

The practical exams for class 12 will be conducted from February 9 to 14, and for class 10 from February 16 to 21.

This year, 8.7 lakh students are expected to write the Class 10 exams, and 8.07 lakh students are likely to take Class 12 exams.

The exams are usually conducted in April but this year it has been advanced due to the state elections which are scheduled to be held in April-May.

In a move bringing significant relief to schools and students, the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (TNDGE) has announced an extension of the deadline for verifying and uploading the details of Class 10 students appearing for the upcoming public examinations.

While the original instruction required schools to complete the data upload on the departmental website by November 19, the deadline has now been extended to November 27.

With the preparation of the nominal roll for the current academic year's Class 10 public exams underway, the Department had previously instructed all school Headmasters to verify student data through the Educational Management Information System (EMIS).

To ensure accuracy in the final mark sheets, Headmasters and class teachers have been directed to strictly verify the following details:

Personal Data: Student's name, date of birth, gender, and parents' names.

Contact Info: Residential address and mobile numbers (crucial for delivering exam results via SMS).

Photographs: Only recent passport-sized photographs of the students should be uploaded.

Strict Guidelines for Corrections: The Department has outlined specific protocols for data verification:

Name Matching: The student's name must exactly match the entry in their birth certificate.

Name Changes: Any changes to a student's name will only be accepted if supported by a copy of the official Government Gazette notification.

Concessions: Differently-abled candidates seeking exam concessions must upload the relevant medical and support documents.

No Post-Exam Changes: Corrections cannot be requested once the mark sheets are issued; therefore, accuracy at this stage is mandatory.
