"The news claiming to be a BJP announcement is fake," a statement from the TN BJP asserted.

The recent poll surveys have indicated that the BJP is likely to win more seats than the AIADMK. Hence, the saffron party is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it fields candidates who are higher chances of winning the seats.

The poll predictions have said that the BJP is expected to get somewhere between 1-4 seats with a vote share of 18-20 per cent, four times higher than the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. It is likely to do well in South Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the PMK has decided to join the NDA alliance.

The upcoming election are expected to revolve around several key issues, including the drugs problem, corruption accusations against DMK Ministers, ongoing court cases, and concerns regarding the ruling party's 'family politics'.
