Swathi murder case: Accused Ram Kumar sent to police custody till July 16th

Chennai, July 13: In a fresh development in Infosys techie murder case, the Chennai Police on Wednesday sent prime accused P Ram Kumar to judicial custody till July 16th.

Earlier, Chennai Police had conducted identification parade of Ram Kumar with the help of the main eyewitness in the case who were spotted him at the crime spot.

According to reports, during identification parade around 25 persons along with the prime accused Ram Kumar, were lined up. The whole process was conducted amidst tight security in the jail.

S Swathi's father Santhana Gopalakrishnan and Sivakumar, a shopkeeper on the Nungambakkam railway station platform, were the two main witnesses who came to identify the main accused. They both were taken by the police to the central prison early in the morning for the identification parade.

S Swathi, a techie who worked with an IT major was brutally killed by the accused Ram Kumar at Nungambakkam Railway Station in the early morning of June 24.

Chennai police earlier said, "We have gathered enough proof against the prime accused Ram Kumar after he made u-turn on the charges of Swathi's murder case".

Accused had earlier said, "I was implicated in the case by the Chennai Police."
