Surprise gifts given by Udhayanidhi Stalin to Adi Dravidar students in Salem!
Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has been making surprise visits to government offices and enquiring grievances from officials and public during his tour across Tamil Nadu. During his visit to oversee the various government projects in Salem district, Udhayanidhi Stalin distributed debit cards to the beneficiaries of Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam (financial entitlement scheme).
Udhayanidhi Stalin tweeted this in his twitter page. "In Salem district, more than 5 lakh women were given Rs.1000 per month under the Kalaignar Urimai Thogai scheme. Today, approximately 500 women were given debit cards for accessing the money. DMK's Dravidian model of government has removed all the barriers faced by women throughout history in the field of culture, law, economy and it will work tirelessly for the further advancement and empowerment of women."

Another tweet of Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "CM Stalin has instructed the officials to provide necessary services immediately to the affected public for which inspections are held regularly. One such inspection was held in Salem Regional Transport Office for the proper delivery of services like vehicle registration, issuance of drivers' license and for ensuring proper functioning of facilities in the government office such as drinking water facility, toilets etc."

Apart from such measures, Udhayanidhi Stalin has done an unexpected thing during his visit to Salem which placed him in the heart of Adi Dravidar students. Udhayanidhi Stalin made a surprise visit to Salem Government Arts College in the night time. He went to the students' hostel and woke them to enquire about the mess menu and the grievances that they had regarding the facilities in the college.

Students informed Udhayanidhi about the lack of sports equipment availability in the college which was addressed the very next day by the Minister. Since the grievance is related to his own ministry, Udhayanidhi Stalin made sure the sports equipment reached the college the next morning itself.
Students' experience with Udhayanidhi Stalin:
A student named S. Kumaresan said, "I am a resident of Ambedkar hostel where Udhay brother visited us at night to conduct an inspection."

Another student R. Vijaykumar said, "I have seen Udhay brother only in the movies, seeing him in person showed his simplicity. He enquired about the grievances faced by students and knowing about the non-availability of sports equipment, he arranged for the required equipment to reach the college the very next morning itself. We are grateful to Udhay brother for this."

Another student Yuvaraja said, "I am pursuing BBA and staying in Ambedkar hostel. At night time, Udhay brother came to the hostel unexpectedly and asked us about our grievances. He then patiently listened to our grievances and addressed every one of them."
Hostel warden Selvaraj said, "At night, suddenly hearing the noise made by the students, I went out and realised that Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had come. In this surprise visit, he spoke with the students, verified the stock list; grocery items needed for cooking etc. Students complained about the non-availability of sports equipment such as bat, ball, stump, football, volley-ball, tennis bat, carrom board etc. Everything happened in a lightning fast manner and all the equipment arrived the next morning itself."

Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's tweet about surprise visit:
An uninformed inspection was conducted in the Salem Government Arts College and the Adi Dravidar students' hostel. Students' dormitory, study hall, storage room, kitchen and toilets were inspected and also the food items kept in stock were checked for quality. The reason behind the inspection is to ensure good quality accommodation on the sidelines of providing good quality education.

During the inspection, the grievance of the students regarding the lack of sports equipment was redressed. Equipment such as cricket bat, carrom board, tennis bat, football, and volley-ball were purchased and given to the students. Students were encouraged to excel in sports as well as their studies.
Our Sports Minister is someone who doesn't play with his roles.
