Suriya's Wife Jyothika Hilariously Trolled For Claiming "Online Voting" In Tamil Nadu Elections
Suriya's Wife Jyothika has been hilariously trolled after she apparently mentioned about "online voting" in the Lok Sabha elections.
At a press meet of her upcoming movie 'Srikanth', the actress was asked why she did not turn up for voting in the recently held Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. Responding to the question, she started off saying "I vote every year" before the reporter corrected her that elections are not held every year.

Explaining why she did not vote, she said, "Sometimes we can be outstation, we can be sick. It is like a private thing. Sometimes you are also not there in town also. So, sometimes we can also vote online. It is not always everything is publicised, there is a private side to our lives also. I think we have to respect that."
Her mention of voting online has been massively trolled by netizens as she mentioned about online voting.
In a groundbreaking move, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has introduced the option of home voting for the elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, marking the first time such a measure has been implemented in a general election. This facility is available for voters aged 85 and above, as well as PwDs with a 40 per cent benchmark disability.
However, there is no provision for normal adults to cast their votes online.
"Heck,I didn't know online voting was available. Wasted my time going to the polling booth and standing in the queue to vote," one user commented over he claims.
The second user said, "And with this vast knowledge, she gave sermon after visiting Tanjore temple, for this much money spent, they would have built a hospital, to show off her socialist concern/outlook,without knowing how to appreciate such a great architecture, that too being an artist."
The third netizen added, "She participated in Polls in X, YouTube & Instagram and her duty is completed Mr @SuryahSG don't be a facist i condemn you." Another user stated, "Oh my God. I never knew online voting is possible. I waited in the hot sun fo 45 minutes to cast my vote. I should've checked with intelligent people."
Taking potshot at the celebrities, a user said, "This family just need awards and that was given by which govt. Everyone knows this. So they just act in real life also."
Mocking her, another user stated, "May be she would have participated in one of the online surveys which she is taking too seriously."
It has to be noted that her husband Suriya along with his brother Karthi cast their votes.
