Stalin meets Azhagiri, Changes imminent in DMK?
The meet comes at a time when M K Azhagiri was seen frequenting DMK Supremo M Karunanidhi's residence. The ousted party leader had claimed that he was only visiting his ailing father
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Treasurer M K Stalin met brother turned political rival, M K Azhagiri recently sparking off rumours of imminent changes in the party according to sources.
The meet comes at a time when M K Azhagiri was seen frequenting DMK Supremo M Karunanidhi's residence. The ousted party leader had claimed that he was only visiting his ailing father. Further, DMK's defeat in the recently concluded bypolls once again put the spot light on Azhagiri's command over voters and party workers in the Madurai belt. DMK had lost the Tiruparankundram assembly seat by 18,506 votes. Losing all seats in the bypoll came as an embarrassment to the party that is currently in a introspective mode.
With Azhagiri's visits fuelling rumours of his return to the party, DMK cadre was divided over having the ousted leader back. Stalin's recent meeting with Azhagiri, which was timed right after the bypoll results, has done little to curb rumours of his return.
