Stalin Is Still Tamil Nadu's Preferred CM, But Vijay, Annamalai In Race: Check Survey Findings
A recent survey conducted by People Studies sought to discern the public's sentiments regarding their preferred Chief Minister for the upcoming 2024 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. While the incumbent, MK Stalin, unsurprisingly commanded significant support, it was the emergence of unexpected contenders that piqued interest.
MK Stalin, the current Chief Minister, secured the highest number of votes, closely followed by former Chief Minister E Palaniswami with 21.7 per cent. However, it was the rankings of the third, fourth, and fifth positions that garnered significant attention.

NTK chief Seeman, known for his fiery speeches, claimed the third position in the survey. The subsequent rankings have truly captured the public's attention. Treading into the political domain with unprecedented fervour are two figures from vastly different realms - Tamil actor Vijay and IPS officer-turned-politician K Annamalai, Tamil Nadu BJP chief.
Vijay, revered for his on-screen charisma and philanthropic endeavours, had recently taken a plunge into politics by establishing the 'Tamilaga Vetri Kazham' (TVK). Despite his newcomer status in the political landscape, a surprising 14.5 per cent of respondents voiced their desire to see him as the next Chief Minister.

On the other end of the spectrum stood Annamalai, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a party striving to expand its footprint in Tamil Nadu. With 11.3 per cent of the populace expressing their support for him, Annamalai emerged as a formidable contender, defying conventional expectations.
In February, Vijay formally announced the formation of his party. His party is not taking part in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. On the other hand, the BJP is trying to win the people's hearts with K Annamalai in the helm. His 'En Mann En Makkal' has helped the party to connect with the party.
Meanwhile, the single-phase election in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 19. Opinion polls have shown that the DMK and Congress will win the maximum number of seats.
