‘Stalin In Your Constituency’, A Blockbuster Campaign
CM Stalin, when he was the opposition leader, started the 'Ungal Thoguthiyil Stalin' (Stalin in your constituency) campaign and went on to collect petitions from people regarding their grievances.
This initiative was mocked and criticised by the ruling party saying that Stalin is giving false hope to the public because he has no time to read the petitions and resolve the grievances. Not bothering about the criticisms, he sincerely collected petitions and through them he is changing the lives of the public.

Resolution of grievances of public:
A youngster from Pudukkottai district gave a petition to CM Stalin seeking a government job. After DMK formed the government, the petition was sent to the relevant authorities who explained the process of getting government employment via the exams conducted by TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission).

Additionally, the authorities explained the ways in which they can offer help with which the youngster turned an ordinary shop into a magnificent Android smart phone shop. The youngster Prasath from Alangudi taluk in Pudukkottai district said, "I have owned a shop near Vamban four-way junction for the last 12 years.
Being a ME Electronics and Communications graduate, I started a small mobile service shop and sold small mobile parts also. When Stalin came to our town for the 'Stalin in your constituency' campaign, I gave the petition seeking government employment.

After assuming power, DMK government acted upon the petitions by assigning an IAS officer with the sole responsibility of redressing the grievances. Regarding my petition, I was educated about the procedure for the appointment of government posts via TNPSC exams.

Coming to know about my background and occupation, the authorities informed me about the provision of loan with subsidy for the expansion of business. Since I do not have anyone to offer big financial help, I took advantage of the opportunity.

A month later, Pudukkottai District Industries Centre contacted me and guided me to get a loan of 5 lakhs with subsidy upto 1.25 lakh. With the loan amount, I purchased a colour printer, lamination machine, and Xerox machine. Initially I sold small phones but later upgraded to android mobiles sales.

From xeroxing alone, I am earning approximately 2000 rupees per day out of which 500 rupees is profit. Other than this, income comes from lamination, mobile service and selling mobiles etc. Never in my dreams had I imagined such importance would be given to my petition. I am eternally grateful to CM Stalin."

Kameshwaran, another youngster from Pudukkottai district doing coconut coir business said, "I started a new business in Veppangudi village after completing B.Tech Engineering. Before starting the business, I approached many companies to gain experience.

When the need for funds to start the company was raised, I sought the help of banks for the provision of loans. The District Industries Centre after going through the blueprint of the business helped to get the loan from the bank within 6 months of time."

The one thing evident from both the instances is that getting a loan for business is not as difficult as before, eligible people can easily get loans anytime via the Industries Centre which is the norm of the new government.
Palanisamy, another beneficiary said, "I established a plant for the production of groundnut oil by getting a loan from Alavayal Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society (PACCS) situated in Ponnamaravathi taluk and has been functioning since 3.7.2003.

In Pudukkottai district farmers largely grow manila crops (other name of groundnut crop), which will be collected by our plant and processed into unadulterated oil and sold at low prices to people. My plant is not a profit based unit but concentrates mainly on the welfare of people.
For such a welfare based unit, a total amount of 8.85 lakh has been given as loan by the banks for the purchase of machinery. Out of the total amount, 1.09 lakh is given by PACCS and 35% is provided as subsidy i.e. 3.44 lakhs.
Pudukkottai District Collector said, "The aim of the current government is to turn educated youths into entrepreneurs. Already 40 individuals benefited from the scheme this year alone and 18 more were selected for the process, out of which 6 were undergoing training."
