Rajinikanth Health Update: PM Modi Talks To Superstar's Wife; Celebs Wish 'Vettaiyan' Actor Speedy Recovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has enquired about Tamil actor Rajinikanth's health over a phone call with the actor's wife Latha, Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai said in a post on X.

"Our Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi avl spoke telephonically to Smt. Latha Rajinikanth avl today to inquire about the health of our Super Star Thiru @rajinikanth avl. Hon PM was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM wished him a speedy recovery," he said.

Rajinikanth underwent a non-surgical procedure at Apollo Chennai on Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu Chief MK Stalin, Governor RN Ravi and many other politicians have wished the actor a speedy recovery.

Notably, Rajini's friend Kamal Haasan sent his wishes as he tweeted, "I wish my dear friend, who is hospitalised, a speedy recovery".

Actor-turned-politician Vijay also shared his wishes for the Tamil superstar. He said, "I pray to God that Rajinikanth sir should get well soon and return home".

The actor was rushed to the hospital after he complained of severe stomach pain while shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's film 'Coolie' on Monday.

The Apollo Hospitals, in an official statement, said that the actor had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method.

"Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr Sai Satish placed a stenet in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair. We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr Rajinikanth is stable and doing well. He should he home in two days,"

He is expected to be discharged by Friday.

Currently, Rajinikanth has two movies in his kitty. His next movie is 'Vettaiyan' which will see the light of the day on October 10. His other project is 'Coolie', a multi-starrer directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of 'Master', and 'Kaithi' fame.
