Police constable sacked for stealing chocolates in supermarket
Chennai, July 27: In an embarrassing incident for Chennai Police, a woman constable was caught on camera stealing chocolates from a supermarket in Egmore. The constable was sacked after the video surfaced and her husband arrested by the Egmore police as he assaulted the staff who caught her.

The woman constable, Nandhini working at the All-Women Police Station in Kilpauk area, went to the Nilgris supermarket. She took a few items and chocolates from the shelf and hid them in her pocket. When the staff confronted her, she gave a written apology as the act was caught on the CCTV camera.
A few minutes later, her husband Dinesh, accompanied by two others, came to the supermarket and attacked Pranav, one of the staff members. CCTV cameras recorded this footage as well.
Injured, Pranav was admitted to a private hospital.
