Opinion Poll: BJP To Outperform AIADMK In Tamil Nadu Under Annamalai's Leadership In 2024 Polls? Survey Claims
Days ago, poll strategist Prashant Kishor had claimed that the BJP would cross double-digit vote percentage in Tamil Nadu and a latest opinion poll has indicated that the saffron party is set for a historic performance in the state.
However, the vote percentage, unfortunately, will not translate into seats, if we have to go by The Times Now-Matrize News survey. The opinion poll claims that the ruling DMK or the INDIA bloc will secure 59.7 per cent votes while the BJP takes the second position by garnering 20.4 per cent votes.

Surprisingly, the AIADMK is being pushed to third place as it secures 16.3 per cent votes followed by others(3.6 per cent votes).
However, the INDIA alliance is predicted to win 36 seats while the AIADMK will bag two seats. Despite getting a higher voter percentage, the saffron party is likely to get just one seat.

The chief minister is the most popular CM (referring to MK Stalin) in the entire country. The kind of schemes which we have in state ensure that the popularity & goodwill of this regime is unparalleled: @saravofcl@PadmajaJoshi pic.twitter.com/b2RlDbv6cy
Annamalai's 'En Mann, Ek Makkal' (My land, My people) padayatra has been garnering a lot of public attention. It seems like this factor is working in favour of the party as it is seeing a massive jump in its vote share.
In 2019, the BJP had contested in five seats and secured 3.66. However, it had an alliance with AIADMK, PMK, DMDK and PT.
Responding to the opinion poll, DMK spokesperson Saravanan said, "The chief minister is the most popular CM (referring to MK Stalin) in the entire country. The kind of schemes which we have in state ensures that the popularity & goodwill of this regime is unparalleled.
Meanwhile, 15 former MLAs from the AIADMK and an ex-MP from Tamil Nadu joined the BJP on Wednesday. Welcoming them, Annamalai said they bring a wealth of experience to the BJP and want to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he is coming back to power for a straight third term.
"For years, the BJP has maintained a strategic focus on the western region of Tamil Nadu. In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the party has intensified its efforts by roping in several former MLAs of the AIADMK from the Kongu belt.
Prominent among these new recruits are former AIADMK legislators, including 'challenger' Duraisamy (Coimbatore), K Vadivel (Karur), P S Kandasamy (Aravakkurichi), M V Rathinam (Pollachi), and R Chinnasamy (Singanallur), all hailing from the western region of the state. They officially joined the saffron party in Delhi, signaling a significant strengthening of BJP's presence in the area.
