Newly elected AIADMK MLA passes away
Chennai, May 25: SM Seenivel, a newly elected MLA of the AIADMK in the new Tamil Nadu Assembly, passed away in a private hospital in Bibikulam in Madurai on Wednesday.
He was elected from Thiruparankundram constituency in Madurai in the May 16 election.

Seenivel, who suffered a stroke a week ago, defeated DMK's M Manimaran by 22,992 votes. The AIADMK formed its second consecutive government first time since 1984 by bagging 134 seats in the 234-member Assembly.
Rumours about his death started doing the rounds on May 18, the day he suffered the stroke, about his death and the social media was abuzz with the news of by-electins. Doctors later said that Seenivel's condition was stable.
