MS Dhoni's long shot: 'Chennai Super King' to produce films with Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Sandeep?

Chennai, Oct 12: Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has a special place in the hearts of Tamils due to his association with Chennai Super Kings, has reportedly decided to turn a film producer. The former Indian cricket captain has plans to fund films starring some of the big names of South India, say reports in Tamil media.

Dhoni has set his eyes on producing films featuring stars like Thalapathy Vijay in Tamil, Mahesh Babu in Telugu, Sudeep in Kannada and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Malayalam, according to a report in DT Next.

It may be recalled that MS Dhoni had met Vijay earlier. Rumours were doing rounds then that the cricketer was set to produce his flick. The latest report claims that the project might be Vijay's 70's flick considering 7 is the cricketer's lucky number.

"The movie will be produced under his banner Dhoni Entertainment Limited which is being run by his wife Sakshi Singh. The team is currently in search of setting up a proper office in the heart of Chennai as they will be listening to stories from various filmmakers. Apart from Tamil, the talks with stars in other industries are at an early stage," a source informed the daily.

As of now, Vijay is busy with his latest flick 'Varisu', directed by Vamsi Paidipally. He will be teaming up with Atlee Kumar, who had earlier given hit flicks for the actor such as 'Theri, 'Mersal' and 'Bigil'.
