Modi 3.0 Cabinet: List Of Ministers From South India In Narendra Modi's New Government
The Narendra Modi-led BJP made a significant push into South India during the Lok Sabha polls, countering the opposition's characterization of the party as primarily 'North Indian'. Modi spared no effort to establish a foothold in the region.
This strategy bore fruit as the BJP made notable gains in four South Indian states, although it failed to secure any seats in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, the BJP's seat count decreased to 17 in 2024 from 25 in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while it surged to 8 from 4 seats in Telangana.

It's worth noting that the BJP had lost to the Congress in the assembly elections in these two states the previous year.
In Andhra Pradesh, the BJP, which had alliances with the TDP and Jana Sena, secured three seats. After years of endeavor, the BJP finally clinched its first victory in Kerala when actor Suresh Gopi won the Thrissur seat.
The BJP now boasts a total of 29 MPs from South India.
Further emphasizing its commitment to the region, the Narendra Modi government has included 13 MPs from South India in its ranks. Here's a breakdown of the representation from the five South Indian states:

Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi, who is the first BJP Lok Sabha MP from Kerala, joined PM Narendra Modi's Council of Ministers on Sunday.
