MK Stalin's achievements since May 2021.. making Tamilnadu excel
Chennai: CM Stalin started his modern initiatives under his very own name when he started to lead the government. The Chief Minister was fondly called MK Stalin earlier. But he addressed himself as Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin while taking the oath to be the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
When the whole state was waiting for his signature to deliver his promises, he launched five notorious schemes for the benefit of his people. Within a few hours of assuming office, he signed 5 important files including Coronavirus relief of ₹ 4,000 for all 2,07,57,000 crore rice ration cardholders at a whopping budget of ₹ 4,153.39 crores, reduction of Aavin milk prices by ₹ 3 per litre from May 16, 2021, free bus rides for women of all age group in government's city and town buses, and formation of a new department 'Chief Minister in your constituency' to act upon public grievances.

And the fifth sign was to provide free Covid treatments under Tamilnadu Government's Health Insurance Scheme. The very first batch of schemes totally empowered the state in very many ways over the period. CM Stalin always addresses his government as a 'Dravidian Model' government. When he first uttered this name it created a huge ruckus in the state, especially among the opposition. He continuously proved that this government is and will be always for the welfare of the people of Tamilnadu.
Tamilnadu government's plan to launch a Tamil dictionary received a huge appreciation. for example, that dictionary taught how to address a transgender person in Tamil. This aided the media houses in properly addressing trans people. To commemorate 100 days of DMK government in Tamilnadu, the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme was launched. Under this scheme, Breakfast is getting provided to primary school children from 1st to 5th standard studying in Gover
nment schools on all school working days. This received a huge appreciation from all the mothers. The women of the state even started to call the free government bus services as 'Stalin bus'. This shows the love and gratitude that showers the CM of the state.
To encourage women's higher education, MK Stalin transformed the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar scheme launched by M.Karunanidhi to aid women who are about to get married. The new Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar scheme aids girl children to pursue higher education under the name of 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme. The program would provide monetary assistance to young women who are enrolled in educational institutions. Within five months nearly 1 lakh and 56 thousand girl student got benefited through this scheme.
To educate the importance of being disciplined the government introduced the 'Sirpi' scheme which is an acronym for Students in Responsible Police Initiatives. Apart from education, Stalin;'s government also concentrated on providing employment opportunities for the youth of the state. Along with many private organisations the Tamilnadu government conducted many employment camps and aided more than 1 lakh youngsters to land a job. MK Stalin himself handed over the appointment orders for those youngsters.
To bridge the gap in education caused by Covid Lockdowns, CM announced a scheme called 'Illam Thedi Kalvi'. This scheme even received tremendous appreciation from the California University. Likewise, 'Rainbow Club' scheme encourages young scientists in school made national level achievements within a year.
For the first time since Independence, Mettur Dam has opened for Kuruvai Paddy cultivation ahead of the traditional conventional date. This improved the harvest of paddy during the 2021- 22 period. In 22,05,470 hectares 1,22,22,463 metric ton of paddy was harvested. This helped the farmers of Tamilnadu in a big way. Furtherly, to improve the status of our farmers, MK Stalin introduced a separate budget for agriculture in the yearly financial budget. This showed the government's importance to agriculture and farmers.
In the same way, the Electricity board too achieved many remarkable things. As electricity is directly connected to agriculture, Stalin''s government made sure that a proper supply of electricity was provided for the welfare of the farmers. In the 50 years of history, Tamilnadu government for the first time provided 1.50 lakhs of free electricity connection to the farmers.
The Language of Tamil cannot be separated from the DMK government. The DMK government always gave importance to the flourishment of Tamil language. For the time, apart from Tamilnadu, Pennycuick statue was inaugurated in London as a symbol of Tamilnadu. Stalin launched 'Tamil Parappurai Kazhagam' to teach the Tamil diaspora in 24 countries through 120 centres for the importance of Tamil.
To raise the value of Tamil, the state government organised the International Book festival for the first time in Chennai. CM Stalin gifted houses to 16 Sahitya academy award winners at a whopping budget of ₹ 1.5 crore. He renamed Srilankan refugee centres as 'Srilanka Rehabilitation Centre' at a budget of ₹317 crores for renovations. In Dindigul the government built 321 concrete houses for the refugees.
For the betterment of IT sector, a new IT Park is getting constructed at a budget of ₹600 crores. This will enable nearly 3,300 people to get employment opportunities. The Business sector is also flourishing in Tamilnadu with more advantages.
To enhance the government administration, Stalin launched 'Dashboard' to do all kind of admin works with the complete data needed. For the welfare of the forests in the state, for the first time in the country, Stalin inaugurated a separate sanctuary for Slender loris in Dindigul and Karur districts. Madurai's Arittapatti and meenakshipuram are notified Tamil Nadu's 'First Biodiversity Heritage Site'.
In terms of Healthcare, "Makkali Thedi Maruthuvam" aided 98,92,456 people in one and a half years. To eradicate the false rumour of 'DMK against Religion' DMK government worked strenuously to rescue temple lands worth 2 thousand crores. And the DMK government is continuously working hard for the welfare of Tamilnadu.
