Lok Sabha Election Predictions For Tamil Nadu: Annamalai-Led BJP Expected To Emerge As Second Biggest Party
Annamalai-led BJP in Tamil Nadu is set to emerge as the second biggest party in terms of the vote share after the DMK. As per the Times Now-ETG_Research Survey, the saffron party is predicted to secure a 19 per cent vote share in the general elections in Tamil Nadu.
While the DMK is predicted to get a 26 per cent vote share, its ally Congress is expected to get an 18 per cent vote share. The BJP is likely to get a 19 per cent vote share followed by the AIADMK (17 per cent) and others (20 per cent).

How this vote share translate to seats?
Going by the survey, the DMK is predicted to win 20-21 seats while the Congress is poised to win 5-7 seats. However, the BJP, which had failed to open its account in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, is predicted to win 2-6 seats in the upcoming polls.
Although it has a better vote share than the Congress, the BJP is predicted to get fewer seats than the grand old party. Others are predicted to get 5-7 seats.
The polling for the 39 Lok Sabha seats will be held on April 19 in Tamil Nadu.
According to the survey, the image of the Prime Minister will significantly influence voting patterns in South India. The report indicates that 23 per cent of voters are likely to base their decision on the Prime Minister's persona.
Also, 19 per cent of respondents stated that they would consider the regional leaders when casting their votes, while 17 per cent mentioned the importance of the Member of Parliament's image. The survey also highlights that development issues are expected to be a key factor, with 17 per cent of participants indicating it will heavily influence their voting decisions.
Religion, on the other hand, seems to have less impact, as only seven per cent of voters prioritize it, as per the survey findings.
In short, the BJP is expected to win somewhere between 30-36 seats in South India. On the other hand, the Congress is poised to bag 24-32 seats (excluding DMK seats).
