Logical debates, an impartial Speaker... Dravidian model espousing democratic prosperity!
Under the DMK regime in Tamil Nadu led by Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, every department is shining like a gem for its two years of excellence. According to political analysts, the events in the Assembly during the two years of Dravidian model of governmence are at the pinnacle to proclaim the prosperity of democracy, which enhances the people's democratic spirit.
The voice of hope from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin echoed more accurately than ever before in the lives of people everywhere two years ago. That voice also governs the Assembly, which is part of the collective voice of the people of Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly meeting under the AIADMK regime had been transformed into a place where arrogance and cruelty were displayed. The scenes in the Assembly were extremely distressing during late Jayalalithaa's tenure. It would take half an hour for an MLA or a minister to praise the 'Amma' while humiliating dignitaries. And the Amma would accept the praises with a smile. Following her death, two Chief Ministers - OPS and EPS - ruled during the AIADMK regime, but the same style of functioning continued.
The Assembly is a venue where respectful discussions should take place and public welfare programs should be evaluated and endorsed. However, during the AIADMK's reign, these essential features were lacking. On the other hand, citizens of Tamil Nadu who had been observing the Assembly proceedings live over the past two years have witnessed a significant shift under the DMK's rule, where such characteristics are abundant.

At the start of the DMK 2.0 regime, Chief Minister Stalin provided an opportunity to all the members of Assembly who wished to praise others. On August 27, 2021, during the Assembly proceedings, Stalin emphasized the importance of time and ordered his ministers and members not to praise leaders during discussion on Bills and Question Hour. However, the very next day on August 28, 2021, despite his previous order, excessive praise continued. Stalin reiterated his request to keep praise to a minimum and not waste time.
On the penultimate day also, CM Stalin and minister Udayanidhi Stalin continued to denounce praises in the Assembly as they deemed it unimportant. Senior minister Durai Murugan also expressed his strong views on the matter recently. Finally, MLAs and ministers are now able to make demands and ask questions in the Assembly without wasting time, indicating that the DMK government is committed to upholding a healthy democracy.
The DMK ministers display a high level of intellectualism in the way they present evidence and statistics to criticize the deficiencies of the previous AIADMK government. A prime example of this is when CM Stalin spoke in the Assembly on March 23, 2022, highlighting that out of 537 notifications, 20 notifications amounting to a project value of Rs 9,741 crore were not issued during the previous regime. He further explained that out of the 537 notifications, 491 were issued orders and permissions, and of those, 143 notices with a value of Rs 76,619 crore were issued orders and approvals but no funds were released and no work started. He listed all the details in a clear and logical manner. This type of healthy and logical debate has only been observed during the DMK regime in the Assembly.

An important comparison to make is between the Speakers of the AIADMK and DMK regimes. During the AIADMK's rule, the Speakers acted as if they held the ultimate power. However, the Speakers of the DMK government have repeatedly shown themselves to be individuals who respect the dignity of their position. Speaker Appavu's actions under the leadership of CM Stalin are particularly noteworthy and deserving of praise.
Speaker Appavu is firm in his stance that no offensive language is permitted in the august House, regardless of whether the speaker is a DMK MLA, coalition MLA or minister. As a result of this strict policy, even the alliance party MLAs have expressed their frustration openly in the Assembly.
The leadership of CM Stalin and his DMK government is setting a historical precedent for India as a whole. The government's approach to asserting State rights and taking action against the Governor without violating constitutional norms serves as an exemplary lesson in politics for the entire nation.
