Karunanidhi slams Dayashanker over his comments on BSP chief
Chennai, Jul 22: DMK President M Karunanidhi today slammed former BJP leader Dayashanker Singh for his derogatory comments against BSP supremo Mayawati questioning her character, and said no amount of action can soothe the 'hurt feelings.'
"All political parties have sought proper (legal) action against him. I also insist the same on behalf of DMK, he said and asked, "Will the action against the leader, soothe the hurt feelings of Mayawati?" In a statement titled "Where is BJP Heading?"

Karunanidhi alleged that ever-since BJP came to power at the Centre, "some" in that party and the RSS have been creating "divisions and differences" in the country. Singh's statement was one such instance, he said. He pointed out that his daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi had also expressed concern over Singh's remarks while reacting to the matter on the floor of the Upper House.

On the issue of attacks on Dalits in Gujarat for allegedly skinning a dead cow, Karunanidhi said the issue had 'created a storm' in Parliament and sought action. On sale of holy Ganga water through post offices, the Dravidian leader sarcastically remarked, "let them sell." "Let them sell...let them spread Hindutva. Let us wait and see what the BJP high-command is upto," he said.
