Rahul Gandhi had made a courtesy call on late Jayalalithaa when she was being treated at Apollo hospital in Chennai as well. He was, however, not allowed entry into her ward. He had to return after being appraised of the leader's health by doctors at Apollo Hospital. The doctors had maintained that Rahul Gandhi or any other visitors were not allowed to meet late Jayalalithaa in person to avoid risk of infection.
