Kamal Haasan Should Be Taken To Mental Hospital, Get His Brain Examined: Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai has slammed actor Kamal Haasan for his recent claims that the saffron party would make Nagpur as India's new capital if Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA comes to power.

Addressing the media, Annamalai said, "Anyone making such claims should be taken to a mental hospital and get their brain examined. Whether it's Kamal Haasan or anyone else, they need to check whether both the left and right brains are functioning properly, whether they are conscious, and whether they are eating their food properly. Kamal Haasan should be taken to a good psychiatrist and get professional advice. How can India's capital be shifted to Nagpur?"

The BJP leader further stated, "If he had claimed that Chennai must be made the summer or winter capital of the country I can accept that. So Kamal Haasan suddenly realised that Nagpur has the RSS's office and hence concluded that India's capital would be shifted to Nagpur. Kamal Haasan should get his head examined. Kamal Haasan should decide if he is speaking consciously or if he wants to clamour for a Rajya Sabha ticket like this from the DMK?"

The Tamil actor, during a campaign, alleged that the BJP would attempt to change the national flag from its tricolour design to a single colour. He also spoke about the BJP's alleged plan to shift the national capital to Nagpur from New Delhi, asserting that this move would undermine the nation's secular fabric.

He further argued that such a move would involve mandating Hindi as the official language and replacing history with mythology in the curriculum.

Kamal Haasan's 'Makkal Needhi Maiam' is having an alliance with the DMK in Tamil Nadu.

At a campaign, Kamal batted for the 'Dravidian model' over the 'Gujarat model'. "People cannot always say that the Gujarat model is great. We have come to this model, which is also great (Dravidian model). Hereafter, India should follow the Dravidian model. Moving my chariot alone is not enough, so we have to move the chariot together (by joining hands with the DMK)," the MNM chief stated.
