Jayalalithaa's wristwatch ticks on as she is laid to rest

AIADMK leader and Tamil Nadu's 'Amma' was laid to rest on Tuesday on Marina beach and just like her political mentor M G Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa was buried wearing the iconic black strap watch that the leader was often seen with.

J Jayalalithaa was buried next to the M G Ramachandran memorial in Marina beach. Most visitors to his memorial are told the tale of how M G R was buried with his famous Seiko watch that continued to tick for years after he was buried.

As if to follow in his footsteps, J Jayalalithaa too was buried with her watch strapped on her left wrist. People visiting Marina beach now could speak of Jayalalithaa's watch ticking as well, just as M G R's once did.
